Piñata Cake

n these past few months, we saw a lot of trends of these heart-shaped cakes with a hammer. These 3-D looking cakes are called Pinata cakes and have taken the internet by a storm for a good reason. They’re incredibly fun to make and can be filled with anything you want- making for a great surprise.

I’ve been seeing the pinata cake everywhere and I’m very excited to be sharing my version today! As fancy as it may look, you only need two ingredients to make the shell. So let’s get to the recipe. And yes, don’t forget to share your creations with me on Instagram using #RasoiTak.

Ingredients:

  • 150 grams white chocolate compound
  • 3 D pinata mold
  • orange gel color
  • green gel color
  • blue gel color
  • Filling of a pinata cake
  • whipped cream
  • All-purpose Flour- 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon
  • Butter – 30 grams
  • lukewarm water – 50 milliliter
  • condensed milk – 100 grams
  • Powdered Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Baking Soda – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla Essence – 1/2 teaspoon

Method:

  • To make the shell for this Pinata cake, melt the white chocolate till it`s completely smooth and lump-free.
  • Divide it into three parts and add orange color in one part and green color in another part leave one part as it is.
  • Make a tricolor shell as shown in the video.
  • Pour melted chocolate into a heart-shaped mold and swirl it to make sure that chocolate covers all the edges and corners of the mold.
  • Refrigerate the mold till the chocolates set completely.
  • After this second layer of chocolate sets, carefully peel the white chocolate off the mold.
  • Once the chocolate is out of the mold, decorate it with some chocolate drizzle and some sprinkles.
  • Fill up your pinata cake and enjoy!
  • preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Sieve the flour, baking powder, baking soda and keep aside.
  • Beat butter, sugar and condensed milk, and essence for 2 minutes.
  • Add water and dry ingredients alternately and mix for 1 minute.
  • Divide the batter into three parts and add orange color in one part and green color in another part, leave one part as it is.
  • Pour the dough into the 6-inch tin as shown in the video.
  • Bake it for 30 to 35 minutes at 180 degrees.
  • cut the cake in heart shape.
  • Do frosting with tricolor whipped cream.
  • cover it with demoulded pinata chocolate shell and decorate it.
