Cornflakes Chivda, CornFlakes Namkeen Mixture, How to make cornflakes namkeen mixture

Cornflakes chivda also is known as cornflakes mixture or namkeen is a perfect munch as a snack on a regular day.
These dry snacks or namkeen have always been an integral part of Indian Kitchens and food. North Indian snacks and south Indian snacks, both are quite similar the only difference mostly is spices used in making these crispy snacks. This is a healthy namkeen recipe because I made this snack without deep frying.
Cornflakes chivda is made using cornflakes as the main ingredient. But in my recipe, I like to add a couple of healthy ingredients which not only makes it tasty but healthier as well.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cups corn flakes
  • 3/4 cup makhana
  • 1/2 cup flattened rice (poha)
  • 1 cup puffed rice (murmura)
  • 3 tablespoon Ghee
  • 2 tablespoon coconut chips
  • 1/2 cup peanuts
  • 1/5 cup cashew nuts
  • 1/5 cup Almonds
  • 2 tablespoon raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 7 to 8 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon melon seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Method:

  • In a large pan take about one teaspoon ghee.
  • Roast makhana for 2 to 3 minutes on slow to medium heat while continuously stirring it.
  • Remove it from the pan once crisp and likewise roast puffed rice, poha and keep them aside.
  • Now in the same pan add one tablespoon ghee and cashews, sliced almonds and peanuts.
  • Toast them for a minute and then add coconut chips, raisins, and curry leaves.
  • Roast them for a minute and then add turmeric powder.
  • Roast them and now add cornflakes and mix them well.
  • Add red chili powder, salt, and powdered sugar. Mix.
  • Add roasted puffed rice, roasted makhana, poha and mix them well and roast them for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Allow it to cool properly and then store it in an airtight container.
