Samak paneer roll recipe, How to make samak paneer roll

Samak paneer roll can be eaten during fast which is quick to make. Samak is definitely a great choice to make in fasting especially when you are in hurry.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Samak flour(Bhagar/Moraiyo/Varai flour)
  • 1 medium-sized raw potato grated
  • 1/2 inch ginger grated
  • 1 green chilly chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

For stuffing

  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Few sprigs of curry leaves
  • 100 grams Paneer
  • 1/2 cup boiled peas
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 green chilly chopped

Method

  • Wash, peel and grate potatoes in a deep bowl.
  • Now add Samak flour, finely chopped coriander leaves, green chilly, grated ginger, salt, red chilly powder, and make a medium thick batter by gradually adding water.
  • Let it rest the batter for 15- 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, let’s prepare our stuffing. heat oil in a pan, once the oil becomes hot, add mustard seed and let it splutter.
  • Now add curry leaves, grated paneer, Boiled peas, red chilly powder, garam masala, chopped green chilly, salt to taste, freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix until well combined.
  • Stuffing is ready now.
  • Take the batter and mix it well with a spoon.
  • Take a non-stick pan and heat the pan on medium flame.
  • Once the pan becomes slightly hot pour 2-3 spoonful batter towards the center and spread the batter evenly in a clockwise.
  • Drizzle little oil all around and top and cook for 2- 3 minutes from downwards on medium flame till it becomes brown.
  • after 2-3 minutes remove the sides, flip it over and cook from another side too.
  • Once both the sides get cooked, remove it from pan.
  • To make samak paneer rolls:
  • Take one chilla and spread green chutney over the chilla.
  • Now spread spoonful stuffing into the center of the chilla and roll it into a cylinder shape.
  • Cut the rolls into 1 1/2 inch pieces. Now take a toothpick to insert it in each Samak paneer roll.
