Sweet potato pudding or Shakarkand halwa is an easy and quick dessert you can make for any occasion. This halwa can be had during fasting, festive occasion, or anytime when you want to have something sweet. This halwa recipe is another way you can eat this awesome and nutritious root veggie which is very rich in vitamin A.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 200 gram boiled sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped almonds
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 7 to 8 strand of saffron

Method:

  • Peel and grate sweet potato.
  • Heat ghee in a pan add grated sweet potato.
  • Stir well and saute 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add sugar and milk and saffron and saute for 4 to 5 minutes or untilĀ ghee begins to come away from sides of theĀ pan.
  • Add cardamom powder and chopped almonds.
  • Our sweet potato halwa is ready to serve.
