{"id":2699,"date":"2025-04-21T06:11:01","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T06:11:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rasoitak.com\/?p=2699"},"modified":"2025-04-22T08:10:55","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T08:10:55","slug":"methi-matar-malai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rasoitak.com\/?p=2699","title":{"rendered":"Methi Matar Malai"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>A popular Indian curry, Methi Matar Malai combines fresh methi leaves with green peas and creamy in a sweet, rich and creamy curry.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"629\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rasoitak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Untitled-design-1-2.png?resize=750%2C629&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"methi matar malai\" class=\"wp-image-2706\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;oil or ghee&nbsp;divided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;teaspoon&nbsp;cumin seeds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;green chili&nbsp;chopped (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;inch&nbsp;ginger&nbsp;chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2-3&nbsp;large&nbsp;garlic cloves&nbsp;chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;green cardamom pods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;medium&nbsp;onion&nbsp;chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1.5&nbsp;tablespoons&nbsp;broken cashews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/4&nbsp;cup&nbsp;milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;cup&nbsp;water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1.5&nbsp;cups&nbsp;chopped methi&nbsp;fenugreek leaves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>salt&nbsp;to taste, around 1\/2 teaspoon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\/4&nbsp;cup&nbsp;green peas&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;cup&nbsp;heavy cream\/ malai<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>garam masala&nbsp;to sprinkle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 large chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turmeric powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>red chilly powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>coriander powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dhaba Style Methi Malai Matar Recipe | \u0922\u093e\u092c\u0947 \u091c\u0948\u0938\u0940 \u0938\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0926\u093f\u0937\u094d\u091f \u092e\u0947\u0925\u0940 \u092e\u0932\u093e\u0908 \u092e\u091f\u0930 | RasoiTak\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BW4rhGvfGDk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Method:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat ghee in a cooker and add cardamom, cloves chopped fenugreek leaves and saute for 1 minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then add peas and 1\/2 cup milk and close lid of cooker and cook for 2 whistle or untill peas soft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat ghee in a pan on medium heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds and wait until they sizzle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the green chilli, chopped ginger, garlic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saute for a minute or two. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then add the roughly chopped onion, cashews and tomatoes . <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saut\u00e9 for 2-3 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then remove the pan from heat and let it cool down a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transfer the entire mixture to a blender and blend to a smooth paste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To the same pan now add the remaining 1.5 teaspoon of ghee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once hot add the prepared paste to the pan and cook for few minutes until the raw smell goes completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then add the malai or cream and give it a good mix. Make sure there are no lumps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let the mixture come to a slight boil and then add the cooked mixer of methi and peas and stir. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cover the pan and let it simmer on medium-low flame for 4 to 5 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally remove the lid and sprinkle some garam masala on top and switch off the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serve methi matar malai with naan, roti or rice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A popular Indian curry, Methi Matar Malai combines fresh methi leaves with green peas and creamy in a sweet, rich and creamy curry.
