This beautiful black forest cake is the easiest that anyone can bake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditionally,&nbsp;<strong>Black Forest Cake<\/strong>&nbsp;includes brushing the layers of&nbsp;<strong>chocolate cake<\/strong>&nbsp;with cherry liqueur. It then adds chopped cherries to the whipped cream filling. Here, I used fruit juice rather than a cherry liqueur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why do they call it Black Forest cake?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>cake is<\/strong>&nbsp;named not directly after the&nbsp;<strong>Black Forest<\/strong>&nbsp;(Schwartzwalder) mountain range in southwestern Germany. Instead, it is named after the specialty liquor of that region. Brush generously with cherry syrup.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Top with approximately 1 cup whipped cream and spread evenly. Top with approximately 1 cup of cherries and gently press them into the whipped cream.
